Acquisition of CMS technology by Mediware brings comprehensive solution for prescribing, scheduling and management of oncology therapies to UK, Ireland and South Africa.
18th April 2012 – JAC Computer Services Ltd. (JAC) today announced that it is now offering a Chemotherapy Management System (CMS) as part of its comprehensive Medicines Management portfolio. The launch of CMS follows the completion of the acquisition previously announced by Mediware Information Systems Inc. (Mediware), JAC’s parent company, of assets from Cobbler ICT Services B.V. in The Netherlands on March 15th 2012.
The acquisition, which followed a period of extensive due diligence in the UK by Mediware, JAC and NHS experts, includes the CMS product along with existing employee, partner and client contracts currently deployed in The Netherlands and Belgium. The current CMS solution is suitable for all hospitals, including non JAC customers, who provide oncology treatment services. In addition, the system’s multi-lingual capabilities will support its adoption of the system in JAC’s international markets and will facilitate further expansion in other European territories for the Mediware Group via their new Dutch subsidiary.
“Customers in the UK and Ireland are increasingly looking for broader, more complete solutions from their e-prescribing and medicines management technology suppliers. The addition of CMS to the JAC portfolio gives us a unique ability to deliver a comprehensive medication management solution to the market. The due diligence process included independent assessment by UK based experts in this field and comparisons to National Specifications and it was unanimously concluded that CMS “ticked all the boxes””, said Robert Tysall-Blay, Chief Executive of JAC Computer Services Ltd.
CMS is a web-based solution for prescribing, scheduling and managing chemotherapy treatments. The system’s extensive functionality focuses on reducing errors, streamlining patient management and optimizing efficiency throughout the treatment of care for oncology patients. CMS is designed to be highly interoperable and can be easily configured for international distribution.
A briefing on the system will be available for JAC customers at the JAC User Group Meeting in London on May 23rd 2012. Non-JAC customers interested in finding out more about CMS should contact JAC’s Marketing Manager using the details on the Contact us page.
