HC2008 charity balloon race for Diabetes UK
 JAC has sponsored the HC2008 organising committee's balloon race to help raise funds for Diabetes UK. On Tuesday the 22nd of April, a thousand balloons were released from the grounds of the Majestic Hotel to celebrate the 25th anniversary of a conference.
Nick Blankley, from the organising committee, commented: "The HC2008 Balloon Race was originally conceived as part of the celebration of 25 years of the HC event; however it turned into much more than that through generous support from JAC and the inclusion of Diabetes UK. It was a fun way to mark our anniversary and, at the same time, it was something that we hope will be beneficial to others."
The balloons were released by the Mayor of Harrogate and his wife from the gardens of the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate. JAC will be presenting an ultra-portable laptop to the winner in June.
